Hi I'm Linda a mum to 3 kids who lives in mostly sunny Queensland Australia.
I love to bake, I love to talk about baking, I love to share how I bake
It's why I started this blog, that and all my friends and family were tired of hearing me talk about baking.
This blog is a record of my baking journey.
Do you take orders for cakes and parties?
No. I don't have a registered kitchen at the moment so I can't take orders, however I do love to share how I make most of the treats posted on the blog in online tutorials.
How do you take your photo's?
For most of my small baked treats I use a pop up light tent with a roll of white craft paper as the backdrop. I got it a few years ago off Ebay. It came with 2 lights which I do use, even in daylight. For bigger items like sliced cakes I usually use natural light.
The camera I use is a Canon EOS 1100D that I bought a few years ago. I'm pretty sure it was the entry level camera available at the time. One day I will read the manual :)
For close up shots I use a 50mm F2.8 DG Macro Sigma lens.
Where do you get your photo prop's from
If I know where I have bought something and it is a recent purchase I try to pop a link to any photo prop's used. If not feel free to email me and if I can help you out I will.
I would like to use your images on my website is that ok?
Um maybe, it depends, yes.....no. I spend a lot of time on most of the posts I create which includes developing an original recipe or decorating idea, writing the post, taking original photo's blah, blah more boring stuff....
All the images on this blog are covered by copywrite. It is ok for you to copy an image without altering it for non commercial purposes and link back to the original post (not just the blog homepage). Unless I have stated it is the property of someone else (then you should contact them). It is not ok to copy a whole blog post or recipe or more than 1 picture and not linking back is not cool.
I'm kind of needy and I like people to visit the blog. If you say copy all the pictures from one of my parties there is no need for anyone to actually visit me.
Please do not take images of my children and alter the images (for example posting inspirational sayings on them) and then watermark them as your own. I am sure your children or your family and friends children are just as inspirational.
If you would like to use any images for commercial purposes or you are unsure if you can use them please contact me
How come your cookbook is published in the US?
that was because a US publisher approached me to write the book :) It
is available on fishpond and if your in Brisbane the Bleeding Heart Cafe
Why do you take so long to answer emails.........?
I left a job I really liked to bring up my kids and spend time with my family. They are my number 1 priority. Always. I love to help out and share my baking but raising a family takes a lot of time for me. I try really hard but it's just me and sometimes I run out of time. I try my best really
Sometimes I may receive products for free or even receive compensation for blog posts. However you can be assured that the posts are written by me and contain my ideas and opinions. I will always indicate if I have received a product when writing the post. If I say I bought a product it means just that, however if I say I was sent a product it is means it was sent for me to sample. You can be assured my good opinion is not swayed by a few dollars worth of free products and only products I like or would use make it onto the blog.
I also link to Amazon and Fishpond where I have affiliate accounts. That means if you click onto the link and buy a product I will receive a very small commission. It does not cost you any more but it might make a small dent in my baking bills.
